Shield of Florida(BCBSF) Long-Term Care Insurance Policies.
The BlueSecure Freedom Plan provides individuals coverage for care received
in a nursing facility, an assisted living facility or at home using home
health care. BlueSecure Freedom offers a variety of choices and options
so that you can design a plan that fits your needs and budget.
Who's eligible for Long-Term Care Insurance Policies:
Individuals age 18 through 85. The younger you are when you purchase this
policy, the lower your premiums will be for the lifetime of the policy,
so we encourage you to call today.
Where Long-Term Care Insurance Policies are available:
BlueSecure for Individuals is offered statewide. And, if you move to another
state, your long-term care benefits will move with you.
You may purchase this coverage through your BCBSF agent. It may also be offered by your employer or through associations and/or businesses as a sponsorship program.
Additional features:
Personal Care Advisor:
A personal care advisor is available to assist you and your family with
your care. Your advisor will document the type and frequency of services
you need, and then arrange coverage for the services - all at no charge
to you.
Alternate Care Benefit:
If you qualify for benefits, alternative types of care that aren't typically
covered under the policy may be paid if mutually agreed upon by you and
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida.
Waiver of Premium Benefit:
Premium payments will be waived on a pro-rata basis starting on the first
day that your benefits are being paid and you've met your deductible
period. The waiver of premium continues until you no longer receive benefits
under the policy.
Discount opportunities:
Spouse and Caregiver discounts are available when certain criteria are
met.
A discount is also available for individual policies purchased through an employer group or association membership.
